The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations. It is dedicated to developing a balanced and accessible international intellectual property (IP) system, which rewards creativity, stimulates innovation and contributes to economic development while safeguarding the public interest.
WIPO was established by the WIPO Convention in 1967 with a mandate from its Member States to promote the protection of IP throughout the world through cooperation among states and in collaboration with other international organizations. Its headquarters are in Geneva, Switzerland. The Director General is Francis Gurry.

L'Office européen des brevets (OEB) offre aux inventeurs une procédure uniforme de demande de brevet, leur permettant d'obtenir une protection par brevet dans un maximum de 40 pays européens. Placé sous le contrôle du Conseil d'administration, l'Office est l'organe exécutif de l'Organisation européenne des brevets.

L’INPI est un établissement public, entièrement autofinancé, placé sous la tutelle du ministère de l'Economie, des Finances et de l'Industrie. Il délivre les brevets, marques, dessins et modèles et donne accès à toute l’information sur la propriété industrielle et les entreprises. Il participe activement à l’élaboration et à la mise en œuvre des politiques publiques dans le domaine de la propriété industrielle et de la lutte anti-contrefaçon.

L’Office de l’harmonisation dans le marché intérieur (OHMI) est l’office des marques, dessins et modèles officiel de l’Union européenne. L’Office enregistre les marques communautaires et les dessins ou modèles communautaires enregistrés, qui sont des éléments essentiels du marché unique européen. Ces enregistrements permettent de protéger les marques et dessins ou modèles communautaires dans l’ensemble de l’Union européenne, qui compte 27 pays et près de 500 millions d’habitants.

Ce site a été créé pour mieux faire connaître et apprécier le marché unique de l’Union européenne auprès des particuliers intéressés, des entreprises, des journalistes et d’autres parties prenantes en proposant des informations claires et d’actualité selon une structure facilitant la navigation, dans trois langues au moins (l’anglais, le français et l’allemand).

Pour le public, l’Institut est en premier lieu l’office de dépôt des marques, brevets et designs (appelés droits de propriété industrielle) en Suisse et, dans certains cas aussi, l’office récepteur des demandes d’enregistrement international de ces titres. Il examine les demandes nationales, puis délivre et administre les titres de propriété industrielle.

The German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA) is the central authority in the field of industrial property protection in Germany. It operates within the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of Justice. The DPMA employs 2,500 staff based at its offices in Munich, Jena and Berlin. The headquarters of the DPMA are located in Munich.
The office was founded as 'Reichspatentamt' in Berlin and looks back on 130 years of history. It has focused and is still focusing on the protection of intellectual property.
It is the statutory duty of the DPMA to grant and administer Industrial property rights and provide information on industrial property rights effective in Germany.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is the Federal agency for granting U.S. patents and registering trademarks. In doing this, the USPTO fulfills the mandate of Article I, Section 8, Clause 8, of the Constitution that the Executive branch "promote the progress of science and the useful arts by securing for limited times to inventors the exclusive right to their respective discoveries.
